In her just-launched book, Just The Way You Are Girl, Grace Nyamahunge draws lessons from her experiences to help women wade through relationships.

To Tarrus Riley, “Just the Way You Are” might just be another song but to Grace Nyamahunge Kyokuhaire, it is an inspiration that redeemed her from the troubles of her life.
It is a song that she used to come up with what many, who attended her book launch, called ‘a master piece’.
The book carries the same title as Tarrus Riley’s song and she launched it last Friday evening at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel rooftop.

Nyamahunge says she wrote the book in 2018 at a time when she was facing challenges in her marriage.
“I was always shy to share the challenges I was going through. I used to look for solutions in different books until I stopped for a minute and thought to myself that maybe I’m also partly to blame. I realised that I had many misconceptions about men. I realised it was the same thing with other women, blaming men all the time yet I was also contributing to the problems I was facing,” she said.

With this in mind, she decided that it was time to face up to those challenges and mistakes through a book.
“I want women to win at the game of love and be emotionally stable. Mental illnesses are caused by challenges in our relationships. Every aspect of life has rules and so does dating. Play by the rules,” she noted.

Author of Just The Way You Are Girl Grace Nyamuhunge (R) and her daughters, who offered the entertainment at her book launch.

The founder of All Round Concepts and guest of honour Irene Birungi Mugisha congratulated Nyamuhunge on her book, saying she recommended it to her daughter though with a disclaimer on some chapters.
The event also had panelists who included Susan Nalwoga, Oscar Ranzo, Pamela Bamirukamu and Mirian Ndyanabo, who spoke about different perceptions about life and how they relate to the book.

Ranzo, a publisher, said in order to study his wife more, he took her to Ethiopia.
“Some people might think I was just being extravagant but I had a motive. While she had gone to have fun, I was using this moment to study her. I am one out of the many who will do something to get what I want,” he said.

Being intentional
Ranzo advised women to always establish what they want out of a relationship and make their intentions known.
However, the day was not all about speeches as there was entertainment from the author’s children. To lighten up the stage was Zakia, who trades as a gospel singer and lawyer in the making. She wowed the guests with her “Gone with the Wind” song before Elisa, whose stage name is Code 8, came on with a rap jam.

To climax the event, Zakia returned on stage with Lus Aziz the poet and together they did a poem titled Dear Ryn (The life of my love).
Just The Way You Are Girl is a book about Nyamahunge’s life and experiences in relationships and dating. It encourages women to embrace their femininity in order to overcome the mistakes that stand in their way at the game of love.
