Controversial local singer Ronald Mayinja has officially been welcomed to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) earlier today by Mr Godfrey Ssubi Kiwanda, the Vice Chairman of NRM central Uganda.
The welcome party took place at Mayinja’s Home in Munyonyo at 10am with few guests.
Donned in a Uganda flag -black, yellow and red- shirt, the Bizemu singer lauded Kiwanda who doubles as minister for tourism, for paying him a visit at his home.
He also thanked NRM members for welcoming him in the party, unlike in National Unity Platform (NUP) led by Bobi Wine, where he said he was often insulted and trolled on social media.
On the other hand, Mr Kiwanda applauded Mayinja for being a good NRM cadre by advocating for the fundamentals of the party.
Soon after being endorsed, Mayinja made his way to Munyonyo for President Museveni’s manifesto launch where he performed his latest song ‘Akalulu kako Muzeeyi.’
The former Eagles Production band member has lately been criticised and trolled for dumping NUP for NRM and releasing a song that praises President Museveni.
