You will vote yourself when the struggle is over – fans attack Sheebah over FB post

A few hours ago, presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine was arrested while campaigning and charged with doing an act likely to spread an infectious disease. The moment he got arrested, Ugandans took to the streets to protest his arrest while others took to social media asking the police to free Bobi Wine.

However, not everyone is bothered by the ongoing situation. Singer Sheebah Karungi took to social media and posted a photo where she was smartly dressed and captioned it; “Unapologetically HUSTLING For what I want.”

This didn’t go down well with most of her fans as they went in the comment section complaining about her ignoring what is happening in the country especially given that Bobi Wine is a fellow artiste.

They cautioned her not to ask for votes when she wants to win any award when the struggle is over since he has not been part of the struggle.

A one Willyam Marshall commented, “Tuli eno batukuba masasi na tear gas mu kibuga osirise oluva awo nti vote for me blah blah…tunakulonda tufudde?” simply meaning “We are being teargassed and you are quiet later you will ask us for votes, shall we vote you when we are dead?”

Rox Hanns Moses felt that what she is doing is immature as he commented, “Sheebah I will be open and honest with you…you truly have to open up your eyes and see what’s going on in the country instead of posting such stuff… You posted about the brutality in Nigeria but your own friend is being brutalized and you keeping silent. Is that really maturity.”

And Salmah Kitaka said, “That statement will come back to haunt you one day. The people you neglect right now are the ones that come to your shows.”

And the comments go on and on.

Some of her fans have come out to remind her how she posted about #EndSars that was happening in Nigeria. They asked her to do the same for her motherland as the people fighting for freedom are the same people that made her who she is today.
