Wasafi President Diamond Platnumz has revealed that Rayvanny is set to open his record label to the public very soon. Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Wasafi FM’s The Switch show, Diamond noted that Rayvanny’s label will be one of the biggest in Tanzania.
“Sijui kama nafaa nizungumze lakini Rayvanny anaanzisha lebo yake muda si mrefu …..Lebo yake kubwa sana . Nilikua naangalia studio yake naamwambia eiy Rayvanny Studio yako hii kubwa eiiy…Kwa sasa hivi akiiposti ndio itakua studio namba moja…” he said.
Simply meaning, “I don’t know whether I should talk about it but you may want to know that Rayvanny will soon be launching or starting a grand label. I happen to see the settings (of the label), I also grew up seeing his studio, but this is a big one! This I tell you will be number one!”
Explaining what the move means for Rayvanny since he is a member of WCB records, Diamond noted that no artiste under Wasafi is restricted from expanding their business.
The label by Rayvanny is expected to a sub-label under Wasafi records. Diamond likened the scenario to that of American rapper Drake who has his studio Young Money but still under Cash Money.
He says that this simply means that everyone has a chance that’s why I keep telling people to think outside the box and create new opportunities
According to Diamond, Rayvanny’s label will provide an opportunity for young upcoming artistes to nurture their talent and receive exposure from the best in the industry.
The two artistes have a number of collaborations together including, ‘Salome’, ‘Tetema’ and ‘Amaboko’ among others.
