John Blaq, Jasmine and 30 other entertainers for UG Peace and Love concert

The coronavirus pandemic affected most of the sectors in the world but the entertainment and arts industry really felt the hit. Concerts, festivals, and performances all came to a halt, however, the entertainment industry has started making use of the saying, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. They have stopped worrying and started living by embracing online concerts.

On Friday 09, October 2020, Uganda will be celebrating 58 years of independence. Usually, concerts are organized and attended to full capacity, this year’s celebrations will however be different when it comes to entertainment.

To keep the celebrations lively, promoters Emma Sserugo of Emma promotions and Juma Balunywa of Balunwya promotions have organized a mega Independence Day concert dubbed “UG Connect Peace and Love Concert”

The concert that will be an online concert will see over 30 artistes performing live. During the press conference yesterday at Hotel Africana, promoter Balunywa confirmed that the concert is on. He however emphasized that it is not a political concert and it won’t have any political content.

“This concert is not political and we won’t tolerate any politics, “Balunywa said. He further stated that is called the ‘UG peace and love concert’ because they want to preach peace. “We are entering a political season which sometimes brings about the violence that sometimes results in death that is why we have put up this concert to preach peace and love despite the tough political season. The show that is sponsored by MTN will kick off at exactly 8 am and go on till 11 pm.

The show will be produced and directed Fenon records will see artistes like John Blaq, A Pass, B2C, Eddy Kenzo, Lydia Jasmine among other artistes perform. It will not only have artistes as comedians like Madrat and Chiko, Bizonto, and Mariachi among others are also slated to perform.

It will air live on Spark TV, NBS TV, Sanyuka TV, and on MTN social media pages.
