It’s no longer a subject of debate that Bobi Wine paved the way for most Ugandan entertainers of his generation to join politics at the risk of his almost two-decade music career.
The presidential hopeful’s influence alone has motivated many to vie for political positions while others seem to have finally woken up from the political slumber.
But as others are dancing to the tunes of fellow entertainers being involved in politics, Gravity Omutujju is less interested.
The luga flow artiste was yesterday seen performing at Erias Lukwago’s home in Wakaliga where he officially launched political campaigns and manifesto for another term as Kampala Lord Mayor.
Lukwago is up against musicians, Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone and Ragga Dee real name Daniel Kazibwe, among other aspirants.
Asked why he wouldn’t rally behind his fellow artists, Omutujju said he favours Lukwago because he has always been hands on.
“Erias Lukwago has been around and we have all witnessed how hands-on he is. He has always been on ground everytime something happens in Kampala. He was the first on the scene when the church was broken down, he has always been involved in market issues so I believe he’s the right person,” he said.
