Sipapa survives mob justice

Kampala socialite Charles Orema, aka Sipapa, yesterday survived mob action in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb, when a group of youth attacked him and destroyed the windscreen and right side mirror of his car.
Mr Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, told Daily Monitor that they received information that armed people travelling in a super custom had fired bullets in Kamwokya.
He said it was alleged that Sipapa was driving in the said car at about 2pm on Sunday in Kamwokya.
Witnesses say Sipapa tried to park the car but irate youth attacked him and damaged the vehicle.
Two armed men, who were moving with him fired bullets in the air.
Police visited the scene and recovered one cartridge.
“The evidence picked at the scene will aid the investigators to establish owner of the firearm,” Mr Onyango said.
