Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah, Sasha Vybz nominated for AFRIMMA

 

 

 

Eddy Kenzo, Sasha Vybz and Sheebah Karungi have been nominated for the 7th edition of the African Music Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) that will take place in Dallas, Texas on November 15, 2020.

This year’s Awards which are under theme “Destination Africa” has seen many Ugandan artistes nominated.

Other Ugandans nominated include Vinka who was nominated in the same category as Sheebah Karungi. Masaka Kids Africana were also nominated in the dance category.

Keko, although she has been quiet has been nominated for Best Female Rap Act; Sasha Vybz for Best Video Director; and

James Onen for Radio/TV personality of the year.

The awards event that was established by the International Committee AFRIMMA, in collaboration with the African Union to celebrate African talent and culture gives out awards has been in existence since 2014.

Many Ugandan artistes have previously won AFRIMMA awards before including Cindy Sanyu who won the award for Best Female artist East Africa in 2016; Eddy Kenzo who scooped the award for Best African collaboration for the Mbilo Mbilo remix and best male artist East Africa 2018; Sheebah Karungi also won an award for best female artist 2018; and Ykee Benda who was crowned as the best New comer in 2018.
