John Travolta on August 21 released a video showing him dancing with his daughter in memory of his wife Kelly Preston.
“My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of momma. One of Kelly’s favorite things, dancing with me,” he posted.
This comes more than a month after the death of Kelly. She succumbed to breast cancer on July 12 and Travolta announced her death a day after.
According to his Instagram post, Travolta said that Kelly fought a battle a “courageous fight”.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” he wrote and added, “I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT,” he posted.
Ella Travolta also revealed praise of her mother who she said was amazing, gracious and the sweetest person she has ever met.
“I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you. Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what,” she posted on her Instagram page.
Travolta and Kelly had three children, the late Jett, Ella 20, and Benjamin 9.
A family representative told People magazine that Kelly had decided to keep her fight private and was undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.
The couple costarred in the movie Gotti. Preston is also famous for movies like Twins, Jerry Maguire, Mischief, What a Girl Wants, The Last Song, and View from the Top.
