Of late, the number of artistes, celebrities and other people in the entertainment industry joining politics is on the rise.
The latest we have heard of is the CEO of Miss Curvy, Annie Mungoma who has picked nomination papers to contest for Woman MP of Manafwa.
This happened yesterday afternoon at NRM Electoral Commission Offices. Mungoma will be taking on Mary Goretti Kitutu, the energy minister who also belongs to the same political party.
She also got to the chance to pass over a message clarifying that this year’s edition of the Miss Curvy beauty pageant may not take place due to the Covid-19 situation.
In addition to being CEO of Miss Curvy Pageant, Mungoma is also the president of the Shooting Range Association in Uganda and a motor rally driver.
Last week on Thursday, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, handed over membership cards to more people from the showbiz industry as he welcomed them to his political party, National Unity Platform (NUP), among them Kadongo Kamu artiste Ronald Mayinja, Comedian Muyonjo Hussein alias Swengere and Actor Aloysious Matovu. Bosmic Otim an artiste also picked nomination papers with the NRM party yesterday.
Looks like these will be interesting elections.
