American musician Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, commonly known by her stage name Katy Perry is head over hills after welcoming her first daughter with partner, Orlando Bloom, to the world.
The couple announced the news on August 27th, through a shared post on Instagram from UNICEF, a charity agency that they are currently working with as its ambassadors.
The agency shared a black and white picture of the couple holding their newborn’s little hand with a heartwarming message: “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy Perry and Orlando shared with the agency.
The message also rallied people to support other women out there to give birth safely, by donating funds.
“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was… “As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality health care. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your heart can bloom with generosity. Gratefully- Katy&Orlando,” the message read.
Katy Perry also posted a picture of a couple where the woman was tossing a baby to a man with a caption: “Me after feeding all day handing Daisy off to daddy bout to deliver this 2nd child #SMILEISCOMING lezzgo.” The second child was in reference to her newly released album titled, Smile.
The couple received a number of congratulatory messages from different people on their posts.
Former presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton wrote, “Congratulations @katyperry and @orlandobloom and thank you for speaking up for maternal health. Wishing you and your new family all the joy in the world.”
Helena Christensen also commented, “Beautiful and poignant way of introducing your little flower. Congratulations to you both.”
The couple met in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
