Puff it up. The puffer jacket is one statement piece and although it is reserved for cold days, it is important that we know how to pull it off.
Gone are the days when oversized clothing was a big no-no. Today, rocking oversized clothing such as the puffer jacket will get your high up on the style radar, and even get you certified fashionista status.
This week, we are throwing more light on one of the hottest fashion accessories of the moment; the puffer jacket. And while this will do greatly at keeping you warm, it is also one of those fashion accessories that take your basic look and turn it around into something worthy of the #OOTD tag. Here is how to style this fashion approved warmer to fit into your everyday style.
The puffer jacket is a casual piece and should never be worn otherwise. For a beginner, denims are your best choice here. Style it over your denims and white tee. Choose the puffer in a colourful shade, for example teal, or red. You can accessorise this with a pair of white low cut sneakers.
If denims are not your cup of tea, then you have the option of wearing chinos, instead. Pair your chinos with a polo tee, something fitting, and then add your puffer jacket.
The trick is to be able to balance out the look. So if you choose a puffer that is larger, ensure that your top and bottom are well fitted, so the jacket is what achieves the larger-than-life look.
When it comes to the ladies, your puffer will work over your denims and tee, your slip dress, or your jumpsuit. You can also wear it over your tights and boots look.
Just like with the men, the balance element still applies here. If your dress is well fitted as is the case with the slip dress, then you can have the jacket larger. Your accessories can vary from sneakers, boots, or even heels.
