June 21 is globally marked on the calendar as a day of celebrating World Music Day. The day that was created by France’s Ministry of Culture in 1982 has been celebrated in Uganda in conjunction with the French Embassy but unlike the past years, tomorrow’s edition will only take place online.
The concert also known as Fete de la Musique will take place online because of the Covid-19 outbreak that forced the world to go into a lockdown that also put a stop to social gatherings and made way for social distancing. The concert has been made possible by the French Embassy in Uganda and Talent Africa Group TV (TAG TV). The online performances will happen on Facebook pages of Talent Africa, French Embassy in Uganda, Alliance Francaise Kampala and Bonjour Kampala at 7:30pm.
This year’s celebration in Uganda will have performances from local and international musicians like Iryn Namubiru, Suzan Kerunen, Joel Sebunjo, Herbert Ssensamba, Sara Vauclair, Dodova & Cojack
