Ugandan artiste Big Eye has threatened to sue President Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party he chairs over Shs270 million debt.
Big Eye says he intends to sue the President of Uganda for allegedly failing to pay him for performing at his campaign rallies back in 2011.
The singer, real name Ibrahim Mayanja, said the letter of intention to sue is specifically directed to the president because he’s the chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) which hired him to perform.
“I demand Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the chairman of the National Resistance Movement. I worked for the president in 2011 when he was contesting for presidency. I was one of the people who campaigned for him after singing on his rallies but I was never paid,” Big Eye said.
The ‘Mango Juice’ singer says NRM party and Museveni owes him at least Shs270million and that he has all the evidence that he provided his services but was never paid.
“I have been demanding the money for long. I had to take another step and I need the money now more than ever because of what I’m going through. I give them 14 days.”
