A few days ago, Sqoop wrote a story about three big events organisers coming together to organize a post lockdown concert headlined a big hip-hop artsite.
Well, news coming in is that American rapper, songwriter and record executive Rick Ross, has confirmed that he will be coming to perform in Uganda at a post-COVID-19 concert jointly organized by top promoters, Talent Africa, Swangz Avenue, Malembe and Kenya’s DJ Guchy. Sources revealed that this a charity concert with proceeds going towards supporting health workers.
No dates have been communicated yet and our efforts to get a comment from the organizers didn’t bear fruit. Ross’ debut album Port of Miami and his second, Trilla in 2008 both topped the charts.
The 6 time Grammy nominee founded the record label Maybach Music Group in 2009, on which he released his studio albums Deeper than Rap (2009), Teflon Don (2010), God Forgives, I Don’t (2012), Mastermind, Hood Billionaire (2014), Black Market (2015), and Rather You Than Me (2017). This year, Rick Ross was nominated in the Grammys for best rap song Gold Roses featuring Drake.
We shall keep you posted as this news develops.
