Popular deejay Nimrod Nabeeta commonly known as DJ Nimrod is in trouble for allegedly distributing relief food without following the Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19.
The Joint Security Team arrested two suspects for defying the Presidential and Ministry of Health directives intended to curb the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the suspects are Nimrod Nabeta and a one Shafiq Walakira. The two were picked by the security team from Makindye Division, Kampala while distributing food.
It is said that DJ Nimrod was cleared by the Prime Minister’s office to distribute food to DJs and was cautioned against gathering crowds while distributing the food.
However, Nimrod who was expected to deliver the food to DJs without gathering a crowd allegedly acted to the contrary. Mr. Onyango further noted that instead of DJ Nimrod of distributing food to the allocated group, he called people and started distributing it without observing the social distance.
Mr. Onyango said that the suspects are currently detained at Katwe Police Station on charges of performing acts likely to spread infectious disease. They will face charges of engaging in acts likely to spread an infectious disease.
