Lately, it is a big achievement for any Ugandan artiste to be signed by an international record label but not Navio.
One of Klear Kut’s founding members who recently released his album online came out and said that he was the first Ugandan artiste to be signed by Sony Entertainment and Universal Music Group but didn’t benefit from them because of their song releasing strategy.
“I was the first Ugandan to be signed to Sony Entertainment and Universal Music Group,” he stated while appearing on NBS After 5.
The ‘Njogereza‘ artiste added that the challenge came from their song releasing schedule which is long because the local audience requires one to drop a song every after 3 months.
This might be the main reason why most Ugandan artistes fall out or don’t want to get associated with such labels as this distances them from the Ugandan market. Other artistes from Uganda to be signed by international record labels include Naava Grey , Keko, Irene Ntale, and Vinka among others.
