Vasha Namubiru: Hair is the closest thing to a royal crown

We often see our hair as a reflection of our identity because it is both personal and public. When a woman’s hair is turning grey or falling out, her self-esteem is affected.

My favourite label is…
Louis Vuitton when I want a treat. River Island and Zara are for my other clothing. Ugandan brands? Once in a while I wear them, especially for an event. After the event, I give them away.

I can’t do without…
La Mer or Vaseline lip balm. After a long day of matte lipstick, these lip balm brands are a real relief for me. I also cannot do without my children.

I can’t get enough of…
Perfumes. I am obsessed with fragrances. It is one of those things that I spend a lot of money on.

I last cleaned my wardrobe…
Last summer.

I buy my clothes from…
Mostly Zara and River Island. As long as the store has unique clothes that flatter me, pieces I will not find everyone else wearing, I will open my wallet and buy.

Most expensive thing in my wardrobe is…
I have quite a number. I can’t point a finger on just one.

Colours that compliment my looks are…White, black and gold.

I feel most confident wearing
Anything that flatters my body and of course, quality hair.

My worst buy ever is…
I don’t know if this qualifies for a ‘worst buy’. My househelp once ruined my yellow bandage dress and I was devastated.

My style tip for the ladies…
Your hair is the closest thing to a royal crown.
