Joe Malaika was recently in the country and while in self-quarantine, he did not let his time go to waste. At the weekend, the US-based Ugandan fashion designer became the first celebrity to offer help following reports of a corona case in the country, donating more than 200 face masks to the public.
“While self-quarantining, I was able to make 200 plus masks to donate to the public. Anyone who can afford a mask or doesn’t have one, you are welcome to stop at the store,” Malaika wrote on his timeline.
The designer, who owns a store at Kampala Boulevard, also called on volunteers willing to help in the distribution of the masks to go to his store and help. Now that is what they call philanthropy. Thank you Joe Malaika…for your service!
