Events promoter Balaam Barugahara has come out and questioned fellow promoters’ Abitex and Bajjo’s mental health before he recommended that they need to be taken to Butabika, a mental health facility to check out their sanity levels.
This comes after promoters Bajjo and Abitex accused Bebe Cool and Balaam of mobilizing revellers to pelt Bebe Cool with bottles during his stage performance during Cindy’s Boom Party concert at Lugogo.
Bebe Cool was booed of stage by fans who also pelted bottles at him. He, however, seemed unmoved as he stayed on the stage and continued performing his songs.
At least 11 people were later arrested by police before Bebe Cool visited police and said he had forgiven them. They were later released.
In an interview with spark TV, Bebe Cool said that promoters Abitex and Bajjo were behind his attack.
However, Bajjo said the bottle attack was a stunt organized by Bebe Cool and Balaam both sworn supporters of President Museveni and his NRM party.
Bajjo alleged that Bebe met Balaam at one of the hotels in Kampala before Balaam loaned him Shs20 million which would later be refunded with Shs20 million interest.
“There is no way, Bebe Cool can let people power supporters out of prison after they hit him with bottles,” he said.
However, Balaam said the two rival events promoters just don’t wish him well and that they were mentally ill.
In a related development, Bebe Cool advised police to charge events promoters Shs5 million ahead of every event. The money would be used to provide security at such events.
Balaam said the idea was good, although police don’t need to be paid because this is part of their work and it is one of the reasons Ugandans pay tax.
