Singer Jose Chameleone yesterday invited the media to announce what he termed as a big step in his music career. The singer who has been on top of the game for at least the last 20 years has been releasing music which is hit after hit although sometime he gave way for the young blood as he lags behind a little before striking again.
Chameleone at the Press conference held at Sky Lounge in Kololo last evening unveiled his new manager and many were surprised to see a woman. Bijoux Fortunate who was an an employee of Talent Africa for a long time before she quit to start up her own events organizing company will take on the role as Chameleone’s Manager replacing Robert Nkuke popularity known as Mutiima.
Mutiima has been managing Chameleone for about 5 years now but he was on and off for the past two years. Speaking at the Press Conference, Chameleone said that he had grown in the music industry and growing comes with some changes that are inevitable. “I have decided to change management but it doesn’t mean that the old management will have to walk out of the door. They will be with me as friends and advisors when I go wrong” Chameleone said.
Bijoux on the other side said that it was her first time to manage and artiste and she believes with the experience she has had in the music industry, she will manage Chameleone. “I have worked with Chameleone several times and even when I was a dancer, I worked with him and we have traveled the world for shows” Bijou said.
It was at the same press conference that Chameleone announced May 29 as the day of his concert that will be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
