It was total bliss over the weekend when Gambian singer David Jay took revelers and party goers to his musical journey at the Pearl of Africa Hotel during the STV (Select4Fun) Listeners party.
The 34-year-old performed songs like ‘Africa is the future’, ‘Here I come’, ‘Body shots’, ‘Don’t tell me’ and ‘Is U Ridin’ among others to the satisfaction of the crowd.
The venue was full to capacity by 10 pm as people from all walks of life graced the party. From city socialites like STV proprietor SK Mbuga, Jack Pemba to Moze 1 and artiste GNL Zamba among others. They were all present and interactively enjoyed with the do.
SK Mbuga who was the host of the event revealed that the event will be held monthly and selected local artistes will have a chance to record a song with any artiste who will be flying to Uganda for the event.
“We will be poaching good artistes around the continent who are little known but have the capacity to make it to the globe. They will be performing at this event.” He added.
With the station’s main agenda being to promote the African entertainment industry, they are set to introduce an awarding event that will be held annually to appreciate standout artistes.
