More than 100 Ugandan artists will perform at today’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) national delegates’ conference at Namboole, Kampala.
The artists who include Fred Ssebaale, Catherines Kusasira, Buchaman, Bosmic Otim, Phina Mugerwa, Hassan Ndugga, Bebe Cool were reportedly invited by the party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba.
Others include Kayunga Mataali group, Nile beat artists, Crane performers, Bamasaba cultural group.
However, on the list, a copy of which was seen by this reporter, Singer Michael Mugwanya aka King Michael’s name is missing.
Event promoter Balaam Barugahara recently warned King Michael not to dare step at Namboole because he wasn’t invited.
“Today the NRM party will hold its national delegates conference at Nambole stadium and amongst the invited guests are a few artists from different parts of Uganda. Many artists in UGANDA support the NRM government because, through this government, the entertainment industry has seen big steps towards its development and recognition. Thousands would love to perform and show their support and on the other hand, the NRM party would love to invite all but only a few are able to be invited and among the invited, a few to perform because of the short programme of the day,” Bebe Cool posted on his social media platforms.
