Former Miss Makerere University Winnie Nantumbwe has achieved yet another milestone after she graduated with a Master’s Degree. On Wednesday, the beauty queen defied odds after she successfully completed her Master’s Degree of Arts in Economic policy and planning from the College of Business and Management Science, Makerere University.
Nantumbwe was Miss Makerere University in the Year 2010/2011. A few years ago, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Economics before enrolling for her Master’s Degree in 2016. She missed out on the graduation list of 2019. Nantumbwe was among the 13,509 students that were conferred upon degrees and awarded di-plomas during the four-day ceremony at the Freedom Square that ended on Friday.
Nantumbwe was forced to drop her modelling career after family responsibilities became overwhelming. During the graduation ceremony, Nantumbwe expressed gratitude to her family for endlessly supporting her hustle all throughout her education. She is currently working with Marasa Africa, a subsidiary of Madhvani Group of Companies. While still Miss Makerere, Winnie contested as Miss University Uganda at Miss University Africa (MUA) Pageant in Nigeria.
