NBA legend Kobe Bryant died Sunday morning when a helicopter he was riding in killing all nine people on board including his teenage daughter Gianna Bryant leaving the sports fraternity and the rest of the world in sadness.
The death of US Basketball legend, has hit many people from all walks of life so hard including singer and philanthropist Angella Katatumba who joined the rest of the world to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant.
The singer however faced criticism for making the entire situation about herself. Upon learning about the death of Kobe, Angella Katatumba took to her social media platforms to express her grief and pay tribute to the NBA star. In her tribute, she reveals how she started loving the former Los Angeles Lakers star who retired in 2016 when father in law tipped her off that her ex-husband resembles Kobe.
“Oh noooo Kobe. I automatically liked you when I lived in Chicago, because everyone, especially my father in law, said you looked like my Ex-husband Alonzo. May you rest in perfect peace. Thank you for your amazing talent.” Angella posted.
Most of her fans and followers came out to claim that Katatumba was using the moment to seek attention by making the entire situation about herself. Some followers bashed her saying being rich doesn’t mean that you are smart.
A one Salim Swaleh commented, “Wabula mwana muwala wesaawo. Kilabe ogutwe guli nga gas cylinder” simply meaning Girl you like attention no wonder your head looks like a gas cylinder.”
And Ian Martin Hemsworth wrote “Someone give me a dustbin from chicken tonight. …..?????”
Bryant, a five-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medallist, is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players in history, an iconic figure who became one of the faces of his sport during a glittering two-decade career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
