Before it took break, Asylum used to be the talk of town when it came to night life. People would travel from Entebbe to Kyaliwajala to party the weekend away. Many were left disappointed after its closure no wonder many flocked the re-opening of the hangout last Friday evening in Sonde.

Most of the faces were familiar and many people on arrival gave each other hugs before drinking and partying the night away. “It’s really been long. Really long. Now let’s start from where we left off. Beer used to be sweat at Asylum. Hope that hasn’t changed a bit,” said one of the pioneers of the hangout.

The colorful event was graced by media personalities and celebrities that included Salvador, Gareth Onyango, DJ Crim and Kasuku among others and to crown off the night Wendy and Roger Kent of UG Records entertained the revelers while Feffe Bussi left the crowd mesmerized with his rap game. However, it was DJ Crim who stole the show with his mixes especially when he played Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine songs back-to-back for an hour. It looked like a music battle as supporters of both camps shouted and danced every time their artiste’s songs were played.

“We are excited about the return of Asylum, It’s a brand that has entertained and given many a proper relaxation option out of town. Our new location in Sonde , after Namugongo is a provocation to give the people of Seeta, Nabusugwe, Bukerere,Sonde, Jinja, Buto,Namugongo and Kyaliwajala a proper one stop entertainment centre,” said Darius Mugisha one of the bar proprietors
