Her deep voice, sexy look and lyrical maturity make Winnie Nwagi one of the most sought after female artistes in Uganda. She leaves a lasting impression on every stage at which she performs.
Last Friday evening, she was at it in Club Guvnor during the Ciroc pop night and as expected her performance was energetic and worth the wait.
Fans of the Swangz Avenue artiste as well as club Guvnor patrons started thronging the bar by 10:00 pm but the ‘Matala’ artiste showed up at 2:00 am. Like it has always been the case with others artistes during this event, Winnie was also taken through the same drill of mixing her favourite cocktails. She did three ‘Yitayo’, Amaaso and Matala which were all going for Shs15,000. The audience was left with no choice as all the drinks were on point.
“I have been able to taste all three drinks but they are all on point. I wasn’t able to choose what was best and if music fails, Winnie should just become a bartender because she really knows how to mix cocktails,” said a reveller shortly after buying the drinks.
Satisfied that she had proved a point in the bar, Nwagi left no stones unturned by asking for the microphone and doing what she does best. She put up an electrifying performance that left everyone in the club on their feet and singing along to her songs like ‘Matala’, Yitayo Ondabeko’, and Musawo among others.
The men were the most impressed as her dance moves left them gazing at her throughout the performance. Knowing her impact, she further joined her fans on the dance floor and took them through some dance routines and later thanking them for braving the rain to come and pop Ciroc with her.
Spin doctors Selector Jay, DJ Bryan, DJ Dash and Baby Luv were in the house to keep the revellers on their toes till morning.
