Nile Breweries Limited under their Flagship Brand Nile Special has kicked off the No Excuse Campaign with the first stop being Beverly Hills Bar located in Kansanga along Ggaba Road. The campaign that was launched a few months at Kyadondo Rugby grounds is aimed at reducing sexual harassment by men due to the influence of alcohol.
According to Francis Nyende the Nile Special Brand Manager, Nile is a strong and popular beer brand which is the most consumed beer by Ugandans and it is the reason they spearheaded the campaign with Nile. “We have launched the campaign at Beverly Hills but wish to cover all famous bars in not only in Kampala but the whole of Uganda” Nyende said.
In the bars, a No Excuse Campaign board where the men were told to stick Nile Special bottle tops to pledge to No Excuse Campaign. The campaign is based on the violence of Gender. While at the launch, all the men that attended the launch were told to stick the covers of their bottle beers to the No Excuse Board.
The main aim of the campaign that partnered with the US Embassy and USAID is to ensure that at least 1000 men make a personal pledge against sexual harassment and violence.
