Miss International 2nd runner up Evelyn Namatovu returns home

Friends and family on today morning thronged Entebbe International Airport to welcome back Uganda’s Evelyne Namatovu who was crowned 2nd runner up in the just concluded Miss International pageant held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan.

While addressing journalists on her arrival, Ms Namatovu said she hoped to inspire and empower a lot of girls and women in entrepreneurship through skilling them, training them and also looking for resources for them to start up new ventures

“I didn’t think I would come this far, I believe in myself first but this was a very good opportunity for me I felt really good because we were 83 girls from 83 countries so being number three was a very good thing and being crowned miss swimsuit was also a good experience for me because I felt so happy and blessed” she said.

Thailand’s Sireethorn Leearamwat won the Miss World international pageant followed by Mexico’s Andrea Toscano who was named first runner-up with Ms Maria Alejandra Vengoechea from Colombia and United Kingdom’s Harriotte Lane finishing 3rd and 4th runners up respectively.

“Miss world has a lot of values which include international business, relations, happiness joy it has a lot of beautiful values and culture as well we promote our  different cultures in different countries internationally” she said.

Ms Namatovu is a 23 year-old student at Makerere University Business School studying a Bachelors of Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
