The song bird was this morning unveiled to journalists as a brand ambassador for Smart Girl Foundation, at a press Conference at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

Smart Girl Foundation–Uganda is a firm that promotes welfare of the girl child, through numerous programs.

The firm’s founder Ms Jamila Mayanja said, “We are humbled to work with Irene Ntale, and thankful to her for having accepted to be our brand ambassador. Not just for the Smart Girl Foundation, but specifically, the smart bags for girls.”

“As other musicians were saying we want 10 million, here she was ready to impact our society, together with us,” added Jamila.

What is more interesting is that the singer will do her new job at no cost at all. In her speech, she said she was moved, by the motive of the organization, in designing the bags for girls.

“As a brand that’s been supported over time, I thought was courteous, to give back to my people,” she said.

The ‘pen and paper’ singer then, shall travel often with the team, during their campaign of distributing sanitary pads / towels, to girls around Uganda.

The bags have four compartments, in which girls insert their books, reusable pads, menstrual management materials; such as a calendars, and literature to guide their menses, and also learn their days.
