For ten days in a row, over 40 restaurants participated in the annual Kampala Restaurant week that climaxed yesterday at Skyz Hotel Naguru. The fifth edition of Kampala’s biggest restaurant showcase concluded with a lavish awards ceremony that saw Speke Apartments’ La Cabana restaurant winning the biggest award of the night.
La Cabana Restaurant walked away with the most desired accolade and the Top Signature Restaurant for the second year running after winning it last year as well.
Other prominent winners included Cantine Divino with the ‘Outstanding Service Award, Top Casual Dining Restaurant Award going to Olives Restaurant and Izumi Restaurant with the ‘Innovation Award’ for their deliciously unmatched Thai Massaman Curry, Cantine Divino with the ‘Outstanding Service Award’ and Olives Restaurant with the ‘Top Casual Dining Restaurant Award.’
This year’s 10-day food showcase that ran from August 1-10 was dubbed the ‘Three-Course Edition’ with restaurants offering starters, main course signature dishes, and desserts. The meals were washed down with a complimentary Tusker Lite.
Towards the end of the awarding ceremony, the best two restaurants were put to test in a ten-minute cookoff and Olives restaurant beat La’ Cabana to it.
The best restaurants were selected by foodies who patronized the restaurant week that was organized by Pearl Guide.
