Miss Uganda team finally announces Miss Popularity

Miss Uganda earlier today awarded several winners at the just concluded Miss Uganda beauty pageant in an event that happened at Sheraton hotel Kampala.

It was however the MTN Miss Pulse category the press and different stakeholders were waiting for after an error in the tabulation last Friday where Ms Santina Anshemeza was announced the winner of this specific category but a few minutes later, Sylvia Namutebi who was one of the judges came out and announced that they had awarded the wrong person and that they would be announcing the right person on their social media pages later.

It’s on this note that a One Bronnie Divine Kusiima has been awarded the title and a cash prize of shs2million among other goodies. The 18-year-old student had the highest number of votes, making her Miss popularity, a title that was renamed Miss MTN Pulse.

“According to the summation of both the app and website votes, Bronnie Devine is the Miss Pulse winner. We highly regret the inconvenience caused by Friday’s mistaken announcement,” said Brenda Nanyonjo the CEO of Miss Uganda franchise.

Kusiima got a whopping 15,971 after getting 1,374 from the Miss Uganda App and 14,597 from the MTN voting microsite.

Surprisingly, Santina Anshemeza came in 4th position after getting 4,534 total votes. In second place was Claire Kabahemba with 14,678 and Mariam Mohamed in third place with 11,934.

Besides the shs2million, Bronnie received a one year brand ambassador contract with MTN pulse.
