MultiChoice talent factory announces entry call for 2019 Academy

Last year, in a bid to increase on the quality of African content, MultiChoice embarked on training, skilling and equipping of filmmakers.

This led to the launch of the MultiChoice Talent Factory programme, an initiative that intended to recruit film enthusiasts across the continent in three film academies in East, West and Southern Africa.

The academies that were taking on enthusiasts from 13 African countries in areas of writing, cinematography, sound and film business among other things took place in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia.

During the launch, MultiChoice through its officials had promised to produce complete filmmakers at the end of the one year course.

And indeed, if the Talent Factory profiles are anything to go by, Uganda’s Cissy Nalumansi was an intern at Coke Studio and some famous TV shows such as Pambio Live.

Of course MultiChoice had promised to do the academy on a yearly basis and they have launched a call for the second edition of the Talent Factory.

Dubbed the Talent Factory class of 2019, this too will seek sixty Africans that are passionate about film in the different areas.

The fully funded programme in Zambia, Kenya and Nigeria will be headed by film professionals Berry Lwando, Njoki Muhoho and Femi Odugbemi, respectively.

Film enthusiasts willing to hone their skill in film can apply on the Talent Factory website before 14 June.
