Pupils showcase talent at Kampala international schools music festival

KAMPALA. It was funfair at GEMS Cambridge International School as pupils from different international schools showcased their musical talent.

The festival kicked off with “I am Ugandan” performance by participants who were required to play instruments as they sang along.

Each of the 10 schools that participated had an opportunity to present a song to the crowd that was comprised of parents. Some of the songs performed included the sound of music which was done by Aga Khan School, Circle of life done by GEMS, Naughty by Acacia school, Story country by Kampala International School Uganda, among others. The performances were both English and African and later with a grand wrap up with the “Sip of the Nile “which was done by all schools.

The festival which is exclusively for primary pupils was colourful with children aged four to five also showcase their skills of playing musical instruments like the bass xylophone, ukale and others, a wide variety of notations progressively including graphic, pitch notation while exploring the basic elements of music.

Other schools that took part in the festival included Ambrosoli International School, Rainbow International School, Heritage International School, International School of Uganda and Acorns international,  among others.
