Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo and the Speaker of Parliament, Ms Rebecca Kadaga have embarked on a joint tour aimed at boosting education in the Busoga region.
The two power ladies visited Star Light Primary school in Kamuli District.
The tour comes after Abenakyo was reportedly dumped by the Ministry of Tourism campaign dubbed Tulambule which she was supposed to spearhead. The campaign manned by Minister Godfrey Kiwanda on Tuesday morning flagged off socialite Anita Fabiola and other beauty queens who replaced Abenakyo. The latter is said to have fallen out with Kiwanda over issues of payment.
Abenakyo and Kadaga also started their tour today and the announcement was made through the speaker’s official Facebook page.
“In a joint tour with Miss World Africa, Quiin Abenakyo, i visited Star Light Primary school in Kamuli district. I was pleased with the performance of schools in Busoga region, as opposed to previously when the region was ranked among the worst in national examinations. The Visit provided an opportunity for Quiin Abenakyo to inspire young people. She implored Star Light Primary School pupils to stay in school for better lives,” Kadaga posted.
The pair also visited Kamuli Girl’s College where Kadaga encouraged students to emulate Abenakyo and complete school.
“Kamuli Girl’s students expressed joy and applauded Abenakyo for being a role model. Abenakyo cautioned students against joining notorious groups, saying such actions only deter them from achieving their dreams,” Kadaga wrote.

The two are also scheduled to address students of St Michael High School, Sonde later in the day.
It looks like Kadaga has a number of big plans for Abenakyo as an earlier post indicated.
“This is just the beginning of the great work Quiin Abenakyo looks forward to accomplish as Miss World Africa. I promised her to use my position as the Speaker of Parliament and Woman Representative for Kamuli district to support her work,” the speaker posted.
However, the timing of their tour seems to show that Abenakyo opted out of the Tulamnule campaign to work with the Speaker instead. What do you think?
