Gospel rapper Edwin Ruyonga and other followers of self-proclaimed prophet Elvis Mbonye are over the moon after the deportation of MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wim Vanhelleputte.

Mr Vanhelleputte, a Belgian national, was deported from Uganda Thursday evening days after the arrest and deportation of three other senior employees of the telecommunications giant. These include the chief marketing officer, Mr Olivier Prentout, the mobile money general manager Ms Elsa Mussolini and Annie Tabura who was the general manager for sales and distribution at MTN Uganda.

Former MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wim Vanhelleputte.

Mbonye’s followers, who prefer to be called remnants, have been sharing posts saying that their ‘prophet’ warned MTN after the telecommunication company trolled him and his followers.

In the said prophecy, Mbonye is reported to have that he saw MTN-Uganda in the spotlight; and for not-good reasons. He added that there would be a lot of accusations and counter-accusations at the telecom company.

This was after MTN designed an advert poking fun at remnants who knelt and kissed Mbonye’s shoes at an event dubbed “Honoring Prophet Mbonye” in 2017.

Rapper Edwin Ruyonga, who seems to be having a field day with MTN’s troubles penned a long post saying MTN should have listened to his prophet.

Below is his full post:
Prophet Elvis prophesies trouble for your company, not as a judgement but actually as a warning to HELP you know there’s a curve ball ahead. Instead of taking him seriously and maybe seeing him to do something about it you mock him several times concerning an event honoring him. When the floodgates pour and his people share it on social media saying told you so, they’re heartless and unforgiving.
Remnants we have our moments and we’re all growing but this one seems straightforward to me. Prophet Elvis tells people about dangerous outcomes all the time and the ones who listen and do something about it actually avert it.
If Prophet Elvis says something is going to happen, it’s GOING to happen. It’s been tested, recorded and put online HUNDREDS of times.
Listening to him is advisable.
Ignoring him is disadvantageous enough.
Ignoring him AND mocking him just seems to even the most LOGICAL perspective to be inexcusable stupidity.
This is a Prophet of God. The Moses kind. The Elijah kind. The Elisha kind. Earth. Wind. FIRE!
You don’t HAVE to agree with Remnants. But just recognize that their Father got in front of a camera and assured the leader of this country (This is UGANDA, we all know what that means) and still got on stage the next week, just as one of hundreds of examples.
Do yourself a favor. Either speak nicely about him, or don’t speak. Don’t be in the statistic of people and even companies who speak against this man and eat the fruit of it.
Or don’t.
This is a love message.
Proud Remnant.”

Meanwhile a one Emmy Emm posted,
“For a man whose shoe is easily worth many months’ rent for many (even though that’s beside the point!), you would’ve imagined they would go slow on using the Prophet’s high-off-the-hog lifestyle to make a mockery of him and the entire ceremony.
But no, it absolutely didn’t stop idlers from taking to social media and dramatizing everything; circulating sneerful cartoons, memes, and generally having a great laugh!
MTN-Uganda, a corporate organization (what a joke!), foolishly joined in the bandwagon to take a swipe at Prophet Elvis Mbonye with this snide, half-witted, extremely dense billboard ad. Sweet revenge it was, or so they thought!
As for MTN-Uganda, looks like there are troubles everywhere you go! I guess that’s what you get for being a smart-arse!”

Josh Sb: “So MTN Uganda how is “being your own Prophet” working for you in this brand new year? Surely you’re having a great 2019.”

Sarah Elvis Mbonye: It’s on record in Heaven and on earth that you merely think evil about Prophet Elvis Mbonye you don’t get away with it except he intercedes & covers you. Yes, that’s right.
MTN Uganda you mocked, now you are the experiment that you and others may know that “Touch not my anointed and do my Prophet no harm.” I wonder who is cross legging now.

Sylvia Basemera: #ProphecyFulfillmentUnfolding #PrimeTime TOUCH NOT MY… AND DO NO HARM TO MY WOT? Now this is a joke gone bad, Hehehehe but we never learn… do we?! Indeed the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
