Miss World Africa appointed Goodwill Tourism Ambassador

Quiin Abenakyo speaking at the Ministry of Tourism today

Quiin Abenakyo, the reigning Miss World Africa queen has been appointed goodwill tourism ambassador.

State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda appointed her earlier today at the ministry’s offices, during the Ekkula Pearl of Africa Tourism Awards season four.

As the Goodwill ambassador, Abenakyo will be charged with promoting both domestic and international tourism under the Tulambule Uganda campaign.

The coordinator of Ekkula Tourism Awards Mr. Bismac Moses Amumpaire said the Awards continue to recognise, inspire and motivate key players in the tourism players.

This year’s edition will run under the theme “Sharing our Cultural Diversity Through The Digital Transformation For Bigger Tourism Numbers’’ and will be held at Sheraton hotel on March 29.

This comes a few weeks after it was said that the beauty queen would be given an ambassadorial role after becoming the first Ugandan beauty queen to emerge among the top five in the Miss World contest and also becoming the first to be crowned Miss World Africa.

Quiin Abenakyo became a national treasure since then and on her arrival from China, was hosted twice by the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
