Cake lovers and enthusiasts flocked Uganda museum gardens to grace the Kampala cake fair on Sunday. By 11:00am, people from all walks of life, comprised mostly of holidaymakers and family had started clustering in the gardens.

There were no major activities at the start apart from different bakers and exhibitors of all products that are used in making cake trying to organize their stalls.

Flavours, styles and cake fashions of all nature are what comprised the day. There was free tasting in almost all the tents. There were also baking competitions and one was dubbed celebrity bake off which had celebrities like Ann Kansiime and Roger Mugisha who also doubled as the MC at the event. Winners in the competition were showered with goodies from Baileys and prestige margarine who were some of the sponsors of the evening.

Being a family event most of the parents spent the evening watching their children dance and also sing a few Christmas songs as Roger gave away goodies to them. They also cut Christmas cake that was served by the kids. The cake fair was crowned with a performance from Vinka who took to stage at around 7.30pm.

Vinka impressed the crowd as they kept singing along her songs like sweet love where she featured John Blaq, omukwano gwo and her latest single Mapozi.

She ended her energetic performance with Chips na Ketch up that got both the parents sipping on Baileys as their children went up on their feet.

The Bailey’s cake fair will go down in history as being one of the most peaceful event but partygoers felt cheated as they expected much more performances that didn’t come to pass.
