As many are venturing into pubs and shunning nightclubs, which are now left to attract a small number of patrons, some individuals are still building nightclubs.

Last weekend, Makindye, one of the Kampala suburbs that never go to sleep, welcomed its first ever nightclub.

Makindye has only housed pubs and bufundas, but never a legit nightclub, yet for years, the town remained awake day and night.

Club Milano located opposite the Military Barracks first organized a media launch where Journalists were invited for a drink up and also a tour of the bar, which many accepted, is a classy bar with good lighting, sound and location.

When it opened doors to the general public last Friday, Singers Ykee Benda and Chozen Becky, the new kid on the block were there to entertain the revelers. Because of fear of missing out, the bar was parked to capacity, with people drinking all kinds of drinks, soft and hard as they waited for the singers to entertain them.

The artistes came on stage at around 2:30am in the wee hours starting with Chozen Becky, the singer who did the famous song Bankuza. After that performance, Ykee Benda performed almost all of his songs.

One thing that will differentiate the bar from the others according to the proprietor Raphael Lule is how they will attend to patrons. “The bar will be open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” Lule said, adding that the difference is that admission will depend on how one looks and how one is dressed.
