Ghosts haunt guests at halloween party

Every year, Ugandan party themes grow bigger and more spectacular. Over the weekend, Kampala party animals, slay queens and kings were at the thrilling and exciting haunted house party along Katonga road, Nakasero for the Smirnoff Halloween haunted house party.

Held at an old deserted flat surrounded by trees, the venue brought out the real Halloween vibe home.

Though most guests wore masks and scary costumes, some showed up in the usual party dresses, perhaps because they are not accustomed to the idea of Halloween.

But that didn’t stop the fun, as a lineup that included Deejay Simples, DJ Ssese and Dj Jo took the audience to non-stop music all night long.

In other countries, Halloween is celebrated on October 31st, the eve of All Saints Day.

It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

In Kampala last weekend, the event was organized by Smirnoff Uganda, Simples Entertainment and Malembe.
