Triple blessings: URA boss Doris Akol delivers twins after contract renewal recommendation

Happiness must be overflowing in the Doris Akol household after receiving lots of good news in a very short period of time.

Akol’s terms of office as the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Commissioner General is likely to be extended after Finance Minister Matia Kasaija and the URA board recommended renewal of her contract to President Yoweri Museveni.

But now she has even more reason to celebrate as she has delivered a set of twins at 48 years of age. Friends say the power lady kept her pregnancy a secret and reduced her public appearances once the morning sickness kicked in.

Details of her delivery are not yet available as the URA team is closely guarding their boss’ ‘secrets’.

However, URA’s Communications Director Mr Ian Rumanyika confirmed the delivery saying that he was excited for the new Nnalongo (mother of twins),”.

“As URA we congratulate her and we are happy that she became a Nnalongo, he said.

The good news also come on a day when the tax body started their tax appreciation week.

Meanwhile Akol has managed to keep her love life out of the media. There are no official records of her being married and neither has she been reported to be dating any one. We wonder who the mystery new father is.
