Illegal possession of arms is one of the charges preferred against Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi wine, but his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi believes her husband is being framed.
“My husband has never applied for a gun, never owned one, he has never had training in gun possession and in gun use. I think he does not even know how to assemble bullets in a gun,” she said in an interview with NTV’s Ali Mivule.
“Even where we have businesses and security that is armed, he makes sure he advises security guards to never approach him when they are armed. And all our security guards know they can never approach Bobi when holding guns. That is how much he hates them. That was the slowest move they would have made to frame him. That was so shallow,” she added.
Bobi Wine who has been in prison since Monday last week, is said to be in bad heath after being tortured by the military following the fracas that happened in the last campaigns of Arua Municipality MP seat.
Although no images of Bobi Wine have been released since the time of his arrest, his lawyers, wife and the officers of the Uganda Human rights Commission, who met him at Makindye Military barracks on Friday, said that he was severely tortured and is in great pain
Musicians were at his home yesterday to give his family comfort and company.
