Juicy curtain raiser line-up for Jazz Safari concert

Thursday will see Grammy award winning jazz basist Richard Bona jet into the country for the Johnnie Walker Jazz Safari concert slated for next Saturday at Speke Resort Munyonyo Lakeside.

But before the attention can shift to the main man, there is a cast of local accomplished jazz acts waiting to blow away whoever will have put aside everything to attend the concert. Kaz Kasozi, BlackRoots UNLIMITED featuring Tshaka Mayanja, Michael Kitanda, Tony Trumpet and Aloysious Migadde will all grace the stage before Bona does what he does best.

Kaz Kasozi has tailored his craft since the age of sixteen, playing a wide range of music genres .His experience from playing in England warranties a polished show. The Blackroots UNLIMITED alongside an accomplished music gem in Tshaka Mayanja, brings a blend of Jazz, Afropop and reggae. Mayanja boosts over 20 years of experience in the business, enough to move any crowd.

Micheal Kitanda was once dubbed the next big thing in Ugandan jazz, his reputation keeps growing because his near perfect relationship with the saxophone.

Tony Trumpet has made a name for himself in what is growing careers and Saturday’s occasion will give him another chance to take his exploits to the next level.  Aloysius Migadde has played under the band ‘the Arpeggios Band’ which stands for broken code in Italian. His guitar skills have left listeners in awe for an artist who plays a number of instruments. The line up before Bona takes center stage will feed massive energy into the crowd, setting up the perfect platform for the main artist to give a doze of his tunes.
