Brian Ahumuza of the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) has been detained at Jinja road police station for failing to pay a shs13 million debt.

He was taken to police by Garage Group Limited, an events management group owned by media personality Brian Mulondo, after he contracted them as the 2016 ASFAs events managers at a cost of shs20 million. Ahumuza, however, only paid shs5 million after the event.

“After over a year, Abryanz has refused to pay the remaining balance of shs15 million, with the excuse that he didn’t make any money from the just concluded edition of his annual event,” according to Brian Mulondo.

The KFM’s D’Mighty breakfast presenter further told us that Ahumuza even issued them with two cheques amounting to shs10 million but they both bounced.

After being dragged to Jinja Road Police station a few weeks back, he paid an additional Shs2 million but never paid more even though he promised to. Until he pays the remaining shs13 million balance, he will remain in police custody.

Recently at the pre-ASFAs press conference, business man Jack Pemba mentioned that Abryanz was heavily indebted.
