The family of Boney Katatumbas are still mourning the death of their father who passed on less than a month ago, but tragedy almost struck on Monday when the widow and mother to Angela Katatumba, Gertrude Katatumba was taken seriously ill.
Ms Katatumba was rushed to hospital in urgent need of an operation. Luckily for her, the operation that was conducted at International Hospital Kampala was a success.
“Mama just had a Thyroidectomy operation at IHK this morning. The devil is after us this 2017. What a year, but in Jesus’ name, we will prevail,” posted Angela Katatumba.
A thyroidectomy is an operation that involves the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid and surgeons often perform it when a patient has thyroid cancer or some other condition of the thyroid or goitre.
Ms Katatumba is still in hospital but undergoing medical observation but it is believed she will be discharged before this week ends.
