2016 was not a very good year for singer Allan Toniks; the Mulamwa hit maker who had made himself a name in the Ugandan music industry, went silent which made most of his fans wonder about his career. However the artiste says he is back this year.

“I’m back to the music industry and I want to assure my fans that I will give them my best this New Year,” he said during a quick interview at KFM studios where he had been hosted on the D’Mighty Breakfast on the Friday SuperStar show.

Toniks, whose disappearance had brought a lot speculation among his fans cleared the air and said that his silence was as a result of an illness.

“My health was not in good shape, I had a lung problem that necessitated an operation and that kept me down for some time, I couldn’t perform, because it would affect my breathing system since I was still on medication,” he explained.

Toniks said that as he started improving, he ventured in another style of music during the course of 2016 and that was with a live band. He says he did that as a way of tasting his versatility.

“In late December [2016], I performed at Roast and Rhymes, to the people who love live performances, it was a blast.”

The singer says that he is now back on the music scene with a new dance hall hit Mutima which is already playing on the airwaves adding that now that he is back in good health, he is concentrating on music and making his fans happy.

Asked about his relationship, the singer said that he is a single man whose only focus is his music career.

“I’m not in any relationship this year, I’m single and only married to my music,” he said.

He revealed that he will focus more on doing collaborations with other artistes like Ykee Benda and Nutty Neithan.
