Every time Bobi Wine has said the name Bebe Cool, it either comes with an abuse or insults but last Sunday evening at Uganda Museum during the 5th edition of the KFM and NTV sponsored annual purple party, something unusual happened.

Bobi Wine on emerging from back stage, kicked off his performance with Mazzi Mawanvu, Bad Man before doing Obululu where he decided to change a few lines to say something about his nemesis.

The ghetto gladiator in the verse said “Bebe Cool supports one party and I support another but when we are both on stage, we put our political issues aside.” This gesture was out of the ordinary and it got the crowd shouting and cheering on. Why, because everyone thought that Bobi Wine was going to throw jibes at Bebe Cool most especially because he had just left the stage with Chameleone.

This left many anticipating that one day the two will mend their differences and work again together like it was in the beginning.

Besides that, the purple party themed “Celebration of Ugandan music” had over 30 musicians in one place with their fans, talking to each other and making future plans which is what Douglas Lwanga the organiser says he wants in the industry.

“I came up with purple party to see that there is no more beef in the music industry, to see that all artistes, upcoming and established work closely together and hang around with their fans at the event,” Douglas opened up to us after last weekend’s event.
