Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, is expected to perform at Akello Hotel Annex in Soroti on Saturday. According to Sarah Charo the manager, Akello Hotel, this is the first time a comedian of Omondi’s calibre is performing in Soroti. Charo said as promoters of tourism in the region, they are now entertaining an emerging middle class of professionals in Teso region who deserve this quality of entertainment but are often deprived because no one has taken an interest in taking up such a business.
She says the show has already attracted bookings from as far as Gulu, Lira and Kampala mostly from NGOs that have sponsored their staff to go and have fun as well as individuals. She says Soroti District has the potential to unlock its hidden tourism attractions if only investments can be injected into them.
