Iryn Namubiru is one artiste who has been kinda off the music scene. She has always tried a comeback but she  would go M.I.A again. A few months ago, the diva announced that she would be having her concert on December 23rd at Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall.

What raised eyebrows was the fact that Namubiru who has not been consistent in the past was going to Serena and would charge Shs 100,000 per individual. Many anticipated a flop since the show was held just a day to Christmas with people having traveled away from the city or having other engagements.

Namubiru attracted a moderate crowd at her One Night Only concert last evening. The event started off outside the hall where guests were served to a cocktail, courtesy of Bell Lager who were title sponsors of the show. This was before they were ushered in.

Iryn Namubiru showed up on stage a few minutes past 9pm as she kicked off her performance with Nkuweeki followed by songs like Nabulo, Essimu Yekilo among others. In her three sessions performance, the singer proved her vocal prowess as she took some time to sing without any instrument playing.

It is evident that the crowd was full of the Namubiru die-hards because they sang song after song as they knew all the lyrics. As the show went on, many of them got off their seats and went closer to the stage. Among these were the Katikirro of Buganda Peter Mayiga and Halima Namukula who were joined by friends to dance to Namubiru’s songs.

As she was concluding the show, she wished the crowd a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year and being the vocalist that she is, she could not go without singing Felis Navidad. It put the already hyped crowd in a Christmas mood as she also did her own version of the same song. She ended the show at midnight with Simbalala a song that she did way back with Bebe Cool.
