Italians in Uganda celebrating Cultural week

The Italian Week which was launched last week started yesterday and will go on until Friday November 18. The event which is meant for Italians in Uganda to celebrate their rich culture with the people of Uganda will have activities that will include gala dinners to promote their (Italian) cuisine and these will be at Kampala Sheraton Hotel wich is also a partner of the cultural week.
The cultural week organized by Africell Uganda and the Italian Embassy will also have performances from the Roman Singer Claudia Hausmann and the Ugandan music group Baxmba waves.
During the week, the Italian Embassy will run a fundraising campaign known as ‘Kampala per Grisciano’ in favour of Grisciano which will be in favour of a medieval village, hometown of ”Pasta alla gricia”, a town that was heavily damaged by the earthquake that struck Central Italy on August 24. The funds will be channeled through the association “Amici di Grisciano” “Friends of Grisciano” towards reconstruction projects in the said city.
